Council Members are elected by the voters to serve on the City Council. Four are elected from their geographic districts and two are elected Citywide. Council Members participate as equal members of the City Council in deliberating City business and setting policy.
Linda Julien is the proud daughter of Haitian immigrants who at an early age was taught the importance and value of education and service to others. To that end, with the goal of college education in mind, Linda pursued a degree in public administration from Florida International University followed by a masters in the same domain from Florida Atlantic University.
Ms. Julien has served in various capacities starting with serving on the Affordable Housing Board in Miami Dade County where she was appointed by the late Commissioner Dorrin D. Rolle. In making a linkage with Economic Sustainability and access to homeownership, Linda continues to seek ways to level the playing field for the most vulnerable in underserved communities. In her thirst for creating lasting impact, Linda’s path was paved by experiences and exposure in multiple governmental areas including economic development, contract compliance, procurement, and public policy.
Linda is a change agent. In her quest to impact more lives in her community, in 2020 Ms. Julien ran and was elected to the city council of Miami Gardens where she proudly serves as a city-wide council member. In addition, Linda is also an accomplished real estate professional where she serves on the Board of Governors for the Florida Realtors as well as the Miami Association of Realtors. Lastly, through her many passions, Linda is a college professor where she is preparing the next generation of public servants through the introduction to American Federal Government. In her free time, Linda Julien enjoys traveling, reading, playing the piano, watching jeopardy and spending quality time with family and friends.
