About Us
The Public Works Department (PWD) is responsible for the maintenance of public property within the City's limit. This includes:- Beautification Projects
- Landscape/Grounds Maintenance
- Public Streets
- Roads
- Stormwater Utility
Responsibilities
The department also houses the Fleet Services Division, which maintains the City's vehicles and equipment and Facilities Maintenance, which includes the upkeep of the Miami Gardens Municipal Complex and city owned properties. Furthermore, the PWD is the home for the impending CMG Circulator (2015), a free community bus service for residents and visitors. The PWD also has the responsibility to coordinate Debris Management along-side Miami - Dade County and the City's contractor.The Public Works Department can also assist with information or questions regarding street signs, street lights, and permits.

The Public Works Department staff works to provide top quality, professional, effective, and timely services to residents, businesses and internal customers. We do this by focusing on relationships with ourselves and our customers, and on customer service and satisfaction, thus improving our image and maintaining the community's trust. Our method in accomplishing our mission will be to implement the goals of the five target areas: Safety, Training, Beautification, Quality Control and Productivity.We intend to improve the quality of life by serving the residents that make Miami Gardens a great place to live, work, and play.
