Talibah Simmons

Captain Talibah Simmons is a seventeen (17) year law enforcement veteran who joined the Miami Gardens Police Department in November of 2007. Prior to coming to the Miami Gardens Police Department, Captain Simmons was a Detective with the Florida Department of Financial Services and a School Resource Officer with the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department. She was promoted to Sergeant in 2014 and Captain in 2016. Captain Simmons has served in Patrol Operations, Criminal Investigations, and Professional Compliance. Captain Simmons holds a bachelor’s degree from Alabama State University and a graduate degree from Florida International University.
