A special event permit is required when the City Manager or his/her designee believes that the intended activity has the potential of becoming a threat to public safety, constitute a danger to the normal flow of traffic, or constitute a potential disturbance of the peace of persons outside the premises where the event or activity is located. This does not include family events at your home that does not impact the rest of the community. The purpose of a special event permit is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the city's citizens and to ensure the proper coordination of city, county and other agencies services when necessary.

If you do not have that information updated, you may not get the notice and your tow bill will increase daily.

Depending on the description of the scene, a Crime Scene Investigator will respond right away if available, if not they will contact you to arrange a date and time. The responding officer will advise you on how to preserve the area to be processed.
The Miami Gardens Police Crime Scene Unit has two shifts. The day shift hours are from 6am to 4pm, the afternoon shift is from 3pm to 1am.
Crime Scene Investigators respond to homicides, shootings, burglaries, robberies, auto thefts, and police involved shootings.
They document crime scenes with photography, and preparing sketches. They collect evidence in which they can process to locate DNA and Fingerprint evidence. Crime Scene Investigators do not interview witnesses nor do they make arrests, but the evidence they present to the courts can help get a conviction.

The goals of the Program are to allow individuals to avoid a criminal arrest and the collateral consequences that often come along with a criminal arrest including adversely affecting employment, future job prospects, entry to the military and other social stigma. The program also hopes to reduce the pressure on the local jail system and the Miami-Dade County Criminal Court system.
The Miami Gardens Police Department (MGPD) officer issues the P.A.D. citation and speedy trial release agreement at the time an arrestable offense is committed. If you accept the program, you will sign a P.A.D. citation form. You will have three business days; from the day you sign the citation form, to contact the Diversion Citation Coordinator. You must agree to participate in the program and follow the rules and requirements of the program provided by the selected service provider. The Service Provider will determine the appropriate program services you will be required to complete based on your offense; and you will be assigned a minimum of 25 community service hours. The Diversion Citation Coordinator will assist you in determining where you will complete the hours and set a completion date. The Service Provider will verify with the MGPD Diversion Citation Coordinator regarding your eligibility.
The non-refundable Program fee of $100.00 and a non-refundable Administrative fee of $250.00 will be paid to the City of Miami Gardens. There are additional fees if you are required to submit to random urinalysis testing. Fees may be paid by cash, credit card or money order.

At the conclusion of hearing testimony, the Judge will determine if the order will be extended or dismissed.

Florida State Statute requires a minimum of 770 hours of curriculum based training. Once training is complete, the cadet is required to successfully pass the State Officer Certification Exam.
The Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission ensures that agencies are updating the officer training records as required by Florida State Statute. All certified officers must complete 40 hours of training every four years to maintain their certification. This training can be taken at the employing agency, local training school, or any training approved by the agency administrator and must be updated by the employing agency no later than June 30, starting four years after the certification was granted.

First, an applicant must take and pass a Basic Abilities Test (BAT) in the discipline for which they want to become certified. Upon passage of the BAT, you must be fingerprinted for purposes of a criminal history background check. Once accepted, the next step is to complete the Basic Recruit Training Program at one of the CJSTC certified training schools. The candidate then must apply for and pass the State Officer Certification Exam for the discipline. Finally, one must gain employment and comply with the requirements of Florida State Statute 943.13, F.S. within four years of the date training was started.
