Captain Ralph Suarez is presently one of two captains in the Support Services Division. His responsibilities include, the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC), Fleet and False Alarm Units.  Captain Suarez graduated from the police academy in June 1981, serving in the Miami Police Department for over twenty-six years. After his retirement as a Lieutenant from the City of Miami in June 2007, Captain Suarez joined the City of Miami Gardens Police Department as a Captain of Police.  He was part of the implementation of the Investigations Division in 2007 and the total takeover of all investigations from Miami Dade Police Department in 2008.



As a member of the Miami Gardens Police Department, Captain Suarez has served as Captain and Major of Police in all the aspects of police work in the City of Miami and City of Miami Gardens Police Departments. He has served in both communities for over thirty-six years. He is a graduate from the distinguish FBI National Academy, Session 226 in Quantico, Virginia. Captain Suarez attended Barry University where he received a Bachelors and a Master’s in Public Administration. All of his adult life has been dedicated to serve the community as a law enforcement officer.
