Council Members are elected by the voters to serve on the City Council. Four are elected from their geographic districts and two are elected Citywide. Council Members participate as equal members of the City Council in deliberating City business and setting policy.
Biography
Councilwoman Shannon Campbell is an elected Council member to the City of Miami Gardens Residential Seat #1. Councilwoman is always searching for avenues to grow personally and professionally. Youth & young adult initiatives are dear to her that’s why she became an educator. She has molded young people into positive productive citizens through reading skills & entrepreneurships. She is innovative & dynamic within her community & beyond. Prior to the 2020 election, she was appointed to serve on the City of Miami Gardens Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC). She was appointed to serve because she is a positive forward progressive thinker. She is an active member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Social Justice Ministry. She was a member of People Acting for the Community Together (P.A.C.T) for multiple years.
In May 2022, Councilwoman was recognized as one of South Florida’s Most Powerful & Influential Black Business Leaders. In September 2022, she received the Her She Empowerment Appreciation Award for always doing something special and thoughtful for others. In October 2022, she was recognized for her devoted, valuable, and faithful service to our community award. Recently (September 2023), she was honored as a Woman Leader in South Florida by Congresswoman Fredericka Wilson.
Councilwoman Shannon Campbell brings work to the table and a voice for the people. She is a people person. She has a master’s in Leadership. Councilwoman Shannon Campbell is a mentor with Young Brilliant Minds Inc. where young people are coached into entrepreneurship. Also, the Councilwoman is the CEO of SHANLLC, where making connections is a lifestyle. Councilwoman is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Incorporated: Gamma Zeta Omega chapter. Councilwoman Shannon Campbell shows excellence in her field, knows how to manage power, use influence as leverage, & have passion for the public and the professionals around her.
